Voraussetzungen

Integrating the Enterprise Branch Architecture using the Cisco Integrated Services Router is a hands-on course that will require students to efficiently configure and verify network functions. Student should possess the following prerequisite skills and knowledge:

CCNA® equivalent experience as taught in the Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND) course. Skills include the ability to:

  • Configure a Cisco IOS router and switch from the CLI, including navigating, interfaces, VLANs, and routing.
  • Configure and enable static and dynamic routing, including Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), on a Cisco IOS router.
  • Troubleshoot a Cisco IOS device using the appropriate show and debug commands.
  • Configure standard and extended access control lists (ACLs) to manage traffic access.

Hands-on field experience in one or more of the following technologies:

  • Configuring Cisco VPNs and firewalls. This is taught in the Cisco Networking Academy® publication, ‘Fundamentals of Network Security Companion Guide,’ available at Cisco Press®.
  • VoIP protocol knowledge. This is discussed in the Cisco Press publication ‘Voice over IP Fundamentals,’ by Jonathan Davidson, James Peters, and Brian Gracely.
  • Configuring a Cisco content engine as a proxy-caching and transparent proxy-caching server.
Kursziele

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Select the proper support platform and network modules to provide specified services.
  • Establish security protection for branch offices using the Cisco IOS Firewall.
  • Set up a site-to-site IP Security (IPSec) VPN and DMVPN to provide connectivity to all enterprise locations, including headquarters and branches.
  • Configure Cisco CallManager Express using the Cisco IOS Software command-line interface (CLI) and the CallManager Express GUI to provide call-processing capabilities.
  • Configure IP phones so that they register with Cisco CallManager Express.
  • Configure the dial plan and gateways to expand the voice-over-IP (VoIP) network.
  • Configure the Cisco Unity Express Network Module with users and mailboxes using the Cisco Unity Express CLI and GUI.
  • Configure all branches to register with Cisco CallManager and implement Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) at all branches, in the event that a branch loses connectivity with the headquarters Cisco CallManager.
  • Configure the Cisco Content Engine Module.
Kursinhalt

The Advanced Services Boot Camp from Cisco Systems® is a solutions-oriented course series that offers a practical branch implementation using branch-focused advanced technologies. The course teaches students how to build a secure VPN network and then extend enterprise services such as IP telephony and content networking over the network to the branch. Extensive practical labs use the new Cisco® 3800 Series Integrated Services Router with selected network integration modules and software. This allows students to practice implementation and troubleshooting of Cisco IOS® Firewall, site-to-site VPNs, dynamic multipoint VPNs (DMVPNs), Cisco CallManager Express, Cisco Unity® Express, and content caching in an enterprise-to-branch-office environment. Students attending the course will learn how to deploy these technologies on the new Cisco integrated services router platforms (Cisco 1800, 2800, and 3800 series) and on other Cisco devices that support similar advanced technologies.
