Prerequisites
  • WAN Quick Start guide.
  • BSSC and MAESC courses (These courses are not required prerequisites but learners may find it helpful to have completed one or both of them before this course.)
  • Some BPX or MGX 8850-PXM45 configurations are required to complete the laboratory exercises in this course.
  • Basic networking concepts and binary and hexadecimal numbering

Course Objectives

After completing this course the student should be able to:

  • Configure MGX 8230, 8250, and 8850-PXM1 edge switches from isolation into a network that supports circuit emulation, Frame Relay, ATM, and Layer 3 (IP) services.
  • Operate and monitor the MGX network once traffic has been established.
Course Content

The MGX ATM Concentrator Configuration (MACC) 4.1 is a 5-day leader-led course that teaches participants how to set up and manage MGX concentrators attached to BPX or MGX 8850-PXM45 backbone networks. This course includes MGX 8230, 8250, and 8850-PXM1 switches. This update includes features for engineering release(s) 1.3.x for MGX ATM concentrators.

  • Creating Circuit Emulation Services on CESM and MPSM-8T1E1 Cards
  • Creating Frame Relay Ports on FRSM and MPSM-8T1E1 Cards
  • Creating Frame Relay Connections on FRSM and MPSM-8T1E1 Cards
  • Creating ATM Ports on AUSM, MPSM-8T1E1, and PXM1 Cards
  • Creating ATM Connections on AUSM, MPSM-8T1E1, and PXM1 Cards
  • Setting Up the RPM
  • Creating Connections on the RPM
