Course Objectives

After completing this training the student will be able to:

  • Configure MGX 8830, 8850-PXM1E, 8850-PXM45, and 8950 ATM PNNI switches from isolation into a network that supports ATM and Layer 3 (IP) services
  • Operate and monitor the MGX network once traffic is established
Course Content

This 5-day leader-led course teaches learners how to set up a Private Network-Network Interface (PNNI) network that supports ATM and Layer 3 services on MGX 8830, 8850-PXM1E, 8850-PXM45, and 8950 switches.

  • Setting Up the MGX Switch

  • Setting Up Network Synchronization
  • Using the Service Class Template
  • Creating ATM  Virtual Circuits on AXSM, MPSM-16-T1E1, MPSM-T3E3-155, and PXM1E Cards
  • Controlling Network Access and Connectivity
  • Managing Connection Routes in the MGX Network
  • Setting Up the RPM
  • Creating Virtual Circuits on the RPM
