Nowadays software development processes make use of a wide range of modern methods, all of which have the aim of improving software. In this course you will learn the fundamentals of development processes, starting with the origins of the waterfall method, the spiral method and iterative-incremental processes such as RUP & Co. up to agile methods such as Scrum. Stress is put on matters which are of utmost importance to project engineers, e.g. how a project organization must be set up or how the planning and development of a project look using the respective method chosen.

As a project manager you will be able to combine modern methods of project management with methods of SW-engineering and to implement them in your own project planning. You will know which method is best suited for your project as well as the success factors for your commitment.
